Eligibility

The candidates must have completed their 10+2 with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks and qualify for an entrance exam if required.

Scope

Students of English Literature gain a profound understanding of literary works. They learn to dissect and appreciate themes, characters, symbols, and various literary devices. Additionally, they develop the ability to craft clear, persuasive essays and presentations, showcasing their insights and understanding.

Strength

The Language lie in its rich history and its wide scope of vocabulary and grammar. Its weaknesses, though present, are relatively minor and can be easily overcome with knowledge and practice.

The Vision of the Department is to develop the department as a centre for academic excellence through teaching and research that encourages and nurtures literary sensibilities, language competence and critical thinking.

The Mission of the Department is to offer advanced, career-oriented post graduate and research programmes imparting professional knowledge, employability andlife skills, as well as inculcating a vision of community growth and development and strong ethical values. The Department will attempt to provide learning and research opportunities in the following Thrust Areas: Interdisciplinary Studies.
