The primary goal of a well-equipped Computer Lab at Karan Arts and Science College is to provide students with assistance that enhances their possibilities of succeeding in their assignments. Completely air conditioned lab has systems which are interconnected via high-speed LAN that further has hubs and switches – manageable and unmanageable.
The College Computer Lab provides the students as well as faculty with high bandwidth internet speed thereby making them proficient in keeping themselves abreast of all the advanced technological developments that happen around the world. One does not have to worry about the power cuts too, as the College Computer Lab is equipped with powerful backup 24x7. Our College is Wi-Fi enabled, which helps both staff and students work on their assignments from anywhere in the campus. The Computer Lab remains open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Karan College has advanced Computer Lab to train our students practically. Ample time is allotted to all students along with optimum lab exposure.
The College has PG Computer Science and UG Computer Science Labs with 85 Computers and Computer Applications Lab with 55 Computers at students’ disposal, offering practical sessions for students especially those doing B.Sc. Computer Science, B.C.A., B.Com.[CA], B.Sc. Mathematics and M.Sc. Computer Science,
In the year 2024 we introduced new 50 systems with highly configuration in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science Lab.
General Guidelines
- Students should maintain absolute silence and decorum in the lab.
- Students should use computers taking care of them as their own property
- Students should leave their footwear outside the lab in the space allotted.
- The furniture in the computer lab should be kept intact.
- No student is permitted to shift or interchange any part of the computer with another.
- Log out and shut down the computer, when you leave.
- Use the Lab only for academic requirements.
- For any hardware problem, report to the Lab-In-charge.
- Students should refrain from downloading objectionable materials from the internet Violation of this rule will result in stringent disciplinary action.
- Students should follow the procedures prescribed for logging in and logging out.
- Each user must have one’s own personal account. Accounts are not to be shared with others for ensuring accountability and security.
- Personal programme files should not be installed in the computer for licensing and security reasons.
- Personal work files may be brought into the lab, but must be scanned for viruses prior to use.
- Permission from the Lab In-Charge should be sought to prevent system infection.
- Hacking (attempting to gain unauthorized access to secured content, violation of system policies, virus creation or propagation, etc.) is prohibited.
- Violation of Lab rules will necessitate serious disciplinary action.
